This summer my husband told our 12 year old daughter, she had to pick a sport this fall. So what did she pick? "Sword fighting," that's what! So last week end my husband bought her a 3 month membership to a fencing club in South Minneapolis, and we gotta take her there twice a week. Looks like tomorrow might be my night to take her.

Tuesday morning at about 1 am my 7 year old son woke up , vomited all over everything, we changed him, and he went right back to sleep. That afternoon at his parent teacher conference , his teacher told me he wil be in advanced placement reading and math again. After those hellish first several years, I still can't get used to parent teacher conferences that go well!

It's a great week to be and Adam and the Ants fan. Adam's book, "Stand and Deliver" was actually released. I wasn't going to hold my breath, but it really did come out. Now he's doing book signings all over England and Scotland. 1000 people stood in line, in London, for his book signing, and from what I've read, it went great! I guess I gotta order it now. Too bad the dvd release date had to be set back again. More legal objections from I don't know who.

For my first time, this week, I did two people at work's reviews, and have another one to go. I'm lucky that my first year as a team lead, I only have good people and get to do 3 such easy reviews. Plus they all got big raises, and so did I! I'm also training in two new people, so work's been pretty busy. My husband still loves his job, and I enjoy that he's working some place where he can call or email me when ever he feels like it!

I ran 3k again tonight. I don't have another race lined up, but I do want to run 1 or 2 more 5K's, if I find out about them, before it snows. It does get easier each time. I finally broke down and got official running shoes, only to find they're heavy and stiff and I need to break them in, so tonight I just wore my old, worn out, flattened ones. It's just easier.

My 5-K time on Saturday morning was 41 min, 3 seconds. The event planner did explain that the course itself really was slightly longer than 5K. My husband who didn't run at all , all summer, finished a mere 5 mintues after I did. I can't believe all the people who crossed the finish line, then turned around and ran the other way, to run the course again, in reverse, to make it a 10K. I was not about to be one of those people. I wanted to finish a 5K, and I did.

Awsome, I ran 4.5 km tonight, to Monroe Street from my house and back. And only 4 days to go until the 5km run on Saturday. It went fine tonight , so I think I'll make it, Saturday! It'll be strange to have to run without my dog, though.

My husband's birthday was yesterday, and as we often do, we had two parties for him. One Saturday night, with friends, here at our house, about 6 people came. And other one last night, with just us and the kids, and some cake. We had his favorite Chili John's chili, which his parents brought with them from Green Bay on a recent visit, and we had kept in the freezer.

My husband's new job is still working out great, we're so relieved! And mine's going ok, too. Both kids have gone back to school. My son's new 2nd grade teacher is like a dream; and my daughter was happy to see that all her new 7th grade classes but one have at least one of her best friends in it, and in most cases, more than one friend. So, she's happy.
