1. Our ill friend is ill and in the hospital again. And we have his cat again. And my husband is having an excessive allergic reaction again. In fact this time he was running up and down Marshall Avenue in St. Paul at 4:00 in the morning, possibly putting up fliers about internet harrassment, and got hit by a pickup.
2. My husband and I went to the Plymouth Playhouse last night and saw The Church Basement Ladies. It's supposed to be funny, but there was so much about how us moms don't want our daughters to limit themselves in life, based on how they see us, that I actually kept weeping.
3. I'm actually trying to keep to the 48 hour work week there's so much pressure on us at Company Who Shall Not Be Named because the Google and RSS Feed their own name. I can never keep up. And apparently for the first time in my life since I was 12, I actually look my own age. I suspect a direct correlation.
4. A month ago my 14 year old daughter and I splurged and spent 2 days in a hotel in Bloomington, going to Anime Detour, a Japanese Animation fan convention. She dressed as Light Yagami from Deathnote. I didn't dress up. Our friends Andrea and Jesse stayed with us one night, it was soooo fun. I hadn't had that much fun in a long time. In fact my daughter and I each won points in a "Name That Anime Tune" contest...in the "advanced" round. Me, because I was the ONLY PERSON IN THE ROOM full of Anime fans who recognised the theme to Mister Stain. Excuse me? Who doesn't know Hali Cali and the Theme to Mister Stain (aka "Tandem), and my own 14 year old daughter was the only one who could name the theme to Mad Lax, because she'd seen and heard it as an ad on the demo tv at Suncoast once, months earlier!
5. Our 9 year old son is drawn to pianos at other people's houses, so we GOT ONE! He won't have anything to do with it, and spent a angst filled week-end after we had to rearrange all the living room furniture to fit the piano in. Then my husband E-bayed an accordian he can't play, possibly just to prove we have too much money this year.
6. I was a volunteer parent at my son's elementary school carnival, and got to turn the music on and off while kids and parents paid one 50 cent ticket , or was it 25 cents I forget, to walk around on numbered pieces of paper, and win boxes canisters of Cheetos and boxes of zebra cakes. One kid chose the healthy Wheat snacks, and when he turned his back to play again, his mom switched them for Doritos !
7. Susan G Komen Race for the Cure is in 2 weeks, and I'm going to run in the 5K again. You'd think I'd be out there preparing for it. But I pretty much laid around all week end, rode to Church with my husband and kids yesterday morning, and ran around the Church neighborhood in South Minneapolis, while they were inside. I found Temple Isreal's cemetary while I was out there! I miss living in town. Accidentally running across a Jewish cemetary with century-old headstones is way more interesting than accidentally running across yet another suburban home with a For Sale sign on its lawn.

Yeah, we had a lot of fun at AD, too, thanks for letting us use your room. Unfortunately, I put my back out from too much sitting cross-legged, but I'm OK now.
